Webspoon World

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 21, 2026

This page explains what personal data Webspoon World ("we", "us", "our") collects when you visit webspoon.world, why we collect it, and your rights. We keep this short and concrete — no dark patterns.

1. What we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to operate the site:

  • Request logs — your IP address, user agent, page URL, and timestamp, logged by our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) for security and abuse prevention. Retained for up to 30 days.
  • Anonymous analytics — aggregated page-view counts via Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or fingerprinting and does not track individual users across visits.
  • Advertising cookies (see section 3) — only after you consent.
  • Embedded YouTube videos — when you play a video embedded on a recipe page, YouTube may set its own cookies. We use the youtube-nocookie.com domain where possible to reduce tracking, but YouTube's own privacy policy applies to video playback.

We do not collect:

  • User accounts, names, or passwords (the site has no login for visitors)
  • Payment information
  • Location beyond what's inferred from your IP

2. How we use it

  • To serve the site and keep it online
  • To measure which recipes are read most, so we know what to write more of
  • To prevent abuse (spam, scraping, DDoS)
  • If you email us, to reply to you

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with anyone except the processors listed in section 4, and only for the purposes above.

3. Cookies & advertising

Webspoon World participates in the Google AdSense program to keep the site free. AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies to show you relevant ads.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will see a consent banner before any advertising cookies are set. You can choose:

  • Consent — personalized ads based on your interests
  • Do not consent — you will still see ads, but non-personalized
  • Manage options — fine-grained control per vendor and purpose

You can change your choice any time via the "Privacy settings" link in our footer, or by clearing the __cmpconsent cookies and revisiting the site.

Google's own privacy practices are described in the How Google uses information page. You can also opt out of personalized Google advertising at adssettings.google.com .

4. Processors we use

  • Cloudflare, Inc. — CDN, DDoS protection, and static hosting of this site (privacy policy).
  • Google LLC — AdSense advertising, the consent management banner, and YouTube video embeds (privacy policy).

5. Your rights

Under GDPR, UK GDPR, and similar laws, you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct or delete it
  • Object to or restrict how we process it
  • Withdraw consent at any time (for anything we process on a consent basis)
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Because we don't have accounts, in practice the main data tied to you is server logs, which roll off automatically within 30 days. For anything else — including advertising preferences — email us at the address below.

6. Children

Webspoon World is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to this policy

We update this page when we add new processors or change how we handle data. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
